Follow Your Calling
Listen to your calling, it will lead you to where you belong.
Every one of us has something to pursue in life or a personal calling. It’s a path God has chosen for us to follow. Our calling is something we want to pursue and whenever we do that, we do that with enthusiasm. However, not everyone has the courage to follow their callings or dreams due to one or other things.
While we pursue our callings, we will face the reality that implicitly tells us that reaching our dreams is impossible, and we need to be realistic. We will meet lots of obstacles popping up along the way. In the meantime, a lot of options come and offer us a more stable life but it came with a term that we have to give up on callings we’ve been pursuing on.
In pursuing their callings, some people just cannot endure the struggle, and they start to lose control of what they are doing in life and they start to give up on their dreams while letting themselves be controlled by fate. However, their choice is not something to blame, they know their well-being is their priority and they choose to live that way.
Are our dreams too big for us?
Sometimes we feel too small for our dreams, we feel our dreams are too big to reach and it’s impossible to reach them. We also see others fail to follow their dreams and it makes us think we also cannot follow our dreams and we don’t deserve our dreams.
Some are terrified of having a big dream, but that kind of dream is the one that made life exciting. That dream is what makes you thrive towards your boundaries, that kind of dream is what gets you up every morning.
To achieve big goals, it comes with a series of small quests. Our success in conquering that small quest is what brings us enthusiasm.
When you really want something, the universe always conspires in your favor.
Fear and defeats are a sure thing
We need the courage to follow our callings because deciding to follow our dreams is like jumping into the unknown, it’s full of uncertainty, and a lot of things can happen. In following our dreams, we might lose everything we’ve won. And not everyone is ready for the risk.
Everyone who followed their dreams felt terrified in the first place but their desire to reach their dreams is bigger than fear of failure and they see failure as just a common obstacle to overcome along the way.
There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.
Failing is something usual when we are working towards our dreams. Don’t be terrified of failing, the fear of failure is worse than failure itself. Don’t think about how to not fail, but think about how to fail six times and get up seven times. Because once we overcome our failure we will be filled with a greater sense of euphoria and confidence.
Following your dream is like learning a foreign language; you will make mistakes but you will get there in the end.
What if we don’t follow our dreams?
Those who don’t chase their dreams will live with their dreams buried in their heart. They think the flame has already died but the truth is the desire is always there as long as we live. It often resurfaces and whispers to us to pursue them but we choose to not listen to them, and one day we can’t resist the callings anymore and we will try again to pursue them only to realize we are too late to pursue them. And from that day the desire will turn into eternal regret.
In the end, you only regret the chance you didn’t take.
And the feeling of regret is worse than the feeling of failure because when we failed to win something at least we already know our capability and we already tried our best also we knew how far we can go.
If you never try, you’ll never know.
But if we don’t win it because we didn’t try we will regret it because we didn’t know our capability and there’s a possibility where actually we can achieve that. Everything could happen but sadly we didn’t try.
Keep trying. If you die today, make sure you die trying.
Everyone has their own calling, have the courage to follow them or at least give it a try to follow them. Because unfollowed calling will haunt you for the rest of your life.
